Aljex Big 500 import automation for broker load boards
How to get loads from the Aljex Big 500 report onto a live broker load board and out to Truckstop and DAT without re-keying or duplicates, including how to avoid double-posting customers that already have their own feed.
The Aljex Big 500 report lists a desk's open loads, but Aljex has no push to load boards. SmartLoads imports the Big 500 CSV, maps its columns (so business names don't end up as cities), fingerprints each load by its Aljex load ID so re-imports update instead of duplicating, and skips customers whose loads already arrive through their own feed. The loads then post to Truckstop automatically and to DAT as a ready file.
Aljex is the operational backbone of many flatbed and bulk broker desks. The gap is getting the morning's loads out of Aljex and onto the boards carriers search, before the good trucks are gone. Aljex has no bulk push to DAT or Truckstop, so desks export a report and rebuild it by hand, or key loads one at a time.
What the Big 500 report gives you
The Big 500 is a CSV export of a desk's loads: shipper, pickup and delivery, dates, equipment, weight and rates, plus Aljex's own load number. That load number matters, because it's a stable identity that survives every re-export.
Importing it without re-keying
SmartLoads imports the Big 500 CSV and does four things with it:
- Maps the columns by header. Shipper-style exports put business names next to cities. The import maps each column by its header so a company name lands in the customer field, not the pickup city.
- Fingerprints each load by its Aljex ID. Importing the same report twice updates the same loads. Nothing is duplicated.
- Skips customers that already have their own feed. If a shipper's loads already arrive by email or Google Sheet, their rows in the Big 500 are skipped by Aljex account number, so the same load isn't posted twice.
- Cleans and posts. Cities are normalized, equipment is mapped to load-board codes, mileage is filled, and the loads post to Truckstop through its API and to DAT as a ready-to-upload file.
Closing the loop back to Aljex
When a load is covered, SmartLoads shows every field to enter in Aljex's own order, so keying the covered load takes seconds, not minutes. Aljex invoices can also be matched back to covered loads for accounting.

Does this need Aljex API access?
No. The import works from the Big 500 CSV export that desks already have.
What happens if we import the report twice in one morning?
The second import updates the loads from the first. Each load's identity comes from its Aljex load number, so there are no duplicates.
Can we post Aljex loads to DAT and Truckstop at the same time?
Yes. Imported loads join the same board as every other feed and post to Truckstop automatically and to DAT through the export file.
